With summer waning, can the Spring Fashion Week events be far behind.
Well, Washington, DC Fashion Week will take place at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. on September 17, 2005.
This is truly an international fashion event, hosted by embassies in Washington, D.C.
The embassies have selected designers to represent their country and are sponsoring them to participate in DC Fashion Week's.
In additional to the French Embassy, the embassies of Israel, Trinidad and Tobago, Belgium, and New Zealand have all confirmed their participation, as well as designers from New York and the local metropolitan area of Washington, D.C.
"The friendship between the nations of the world is a treasure and DC Fashion Week provides an atmosphere where all people can celebrate the universality of fashion.
DC Fashion Week is an exciting event where the fashion culture of a particular nation is exhibited along with that of other nations, in a festive and vibrant way," states DC Fashion Week executive director Ean Williams.
"We are inviting all embassies to participate in this groundbreaking event, a truly international tradeshow of apparel,
design and fashion with an emerging designer from their home country."
A partnership of independent fashion designers, producers and models, DC Fashion Week was created to increase economic development in the area of fashion design, clothing merchandising and modeling, and to enhance the visibility of the nation's capital as a center of international fashion.
All of the week's scheduled events are open to the public, but there is a $50 admission charge to the "Extravagance" Couture Show, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. at the French Embassy, 4101 Reservoir Road, NW, Washington DC 20007.
