Japan Earthquake June 23: Magnitude 6.7 Earthquake Hits Japan; Tsunami Warning Issued

Another earthquake shakes Japan at around 6:50 a.m. today, June 23.

According to U.S. Geological Survey, the 6.7 magnitude earthquake centered at about 40 kilometers from Northern Iwate Prefecture on the Honshu Island, around 530 kilometers to the northeast of Tokyo - the same area where the 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit Japan last March 11.

A tsunami warning was issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency for the Iwate Prefecture but was canceled after about one hour.
