Sam Concepcion Directs "Face Off" Concert by Tippy Dos Santos and Morissette Amon

Stages’ Tippy Dos Santos eclipsed her contemporaries in the ABS-CBN youth show "Shoutout." Talent5’s Morissette Amon snatched the second top plum in the Kapatid Network’s talent search "Star Factor."

Now think: What if the two are "pitted" against each other?

The answer will be revealed on July 2, 5:30 p.m., at the Entertainment Hall of Robinsons Midtown Ermita, when they battle it out in the concert aptly titled "Face Off."

Will Tippy’s theater background, World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) title, and her mestiza features propel her to be hailed the better performer? Or, will Morissette’s Sarah Geronimo-like charm, strong pipes, and experiences as singing search contestant be enough for her to emerge on top?

At her young age, Tippy may well be considered stage veteran having been part of musical productions like "Children’s Letters To God" and "Beauty and the Beast." She is slated to be Sam Concepcion’s partner in STAGES’ production of "Peter Pan."

More than the duel between me and Morissette, I think this concert would showcase the talent of the Filipino youth,” says Tippy. “It will be a fun show. I hope everyone can watch.”

Morissette, on the other hand, started singing at a very young age, trooping to various singing contests in her native Cebu. She had just finished waxing her debut album.

"Face Off" is ABS-CBN teen star Sam Concepcion's directorial debut. It will serve as a prelude to Sam’s major concert set for 2010, which he also plans to direct.

This is my way of supporting my friends in this endeavor,” Sam says humbly of his participation in "Face Off."

In "Face Off," Tippy and Morissette will belt out tunes from their favorite divas like Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Beyonce, among others. The two singers will also pay tribute to megastar Sharon Cuneta, one of the most successful singers in local entertainment history.

"Face Off," presented by STAGES, Talent5, and Hype Cologne, in cooperation with TV5 and "ASAP Rocks," will have Talent5 artists as guests. Admission to the concert is free.
