Sex and The City is about . . .

A Scene from Sex and The City

Sexy Scenes from Sex and The City

Is it about Sex, the City, Female comradery, fashion labels, love or happy endings?

What ever your take on the movie version of Sex and The City, it is certainly about the hype.

The stars of Sex and The City have a lock on this week early morning television shows from Today Show, The Early Show and Regis & Kelly, so there is no escaping Sex and The City.

Products or brand as they are known in the trade, will be featured prominently in the movie.

Not only will Samantha (Kim Cattrall) be driving a GLK luxury sport utility, but Mr. Big played by (Chris Noth) will be traveling around in an S-class limousine both from Mercedes-Benz which will also be featured in scenes revolving around Mercedes-Benz fashion week tents.

Of course, we know all fashionable and fit New York women are seen carrying around a bottle of water.

So, of course, water was a natural fit for this movie and Vitaminwater will be featured in the movie.

And, what fashionable woman would go out without a fashionable, designer labeled bag.

So it only natural that the company that make it affordable for every fashion conscious woman to rent a designer labeled bag Bag Borrow or Steal to be a sponsor.

The movie is definitely about fashions, and it is definitely receiving wide attention in the celebrity and fashion magazines.

Vogue featured Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover and also in a fabulous fashion spread shot around New York.

But most of all about the fashions.

Sex and The City will certainly be a chick flick, as the movie ticket site Fandango reported in their blog that many women seem to be planning to go in groups.

"We (Fandango) are getting a surprising number of requests for group ticket sales from women planning 'Sex and the City' get-togethers.

So it seems that Sex and The City will be a lady's night out movie.

According to Fandango survey only 6 percent said they were going with a man, so this is definitely a lady's night out type of movie.

Although the R rating will severely limit the teen audience as a parent or guardian must accompany those under 17.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see how the battle of the movie audiences shapes up, as the guy movie Indiana Jones which took in an estimated $311 million worldwide revenue this past weekend goes up against Sex and The City which will open in movie theatres on Friday May 30, with many theatres offering Thursday niter, midnight showings.

Sexy Fashions and "The Hat" at Sex and The City Premiere

Well, Carrie Bradshaw played by Sarah Jessica Parker is finally getting married; well at least in the movie version of Sex and The City.

But, unlike other brides, size doesn't matter to Carrie Bradshaw.

She cares less about the size of the diamond ring but more about the size of her new apartment closets.

Well, for a cast of characters who are very fashion conscious, I guest that closet size really does matter, more than anything else - especially in New York City.

It's kind of ironic that Sex and The City, which was filmed in New York City, would have its world premiere in London, and then onto Berlin.

Even though Sarah Jessica Parker plays it up as a series of small premieres leading up to the grand New York City premiere, still - the plot that was a closely guarded secret is now out of the bag.

The four main characters really love fashion and those 4 inch plus high heel stiletto shoes, which are featured in the movie and on the red carpet just goes to prove it.

Actually, the movie itself was somewhat overshadowed by Sarah Jessica Parker green hat - The Hat, which topped off her beautiful green chiffon gown by Alexander McQueen.

The hat, created by Philip Traeady, included a large lime colored rose, green butterflies and acorns.

The hat was hailed in the UK media as a bold fashion statement, but from the reactions of American in the street on early morning news programs, most considered the hat to be ridiculous or odd, to say the least.

Among the other members of the cast Kim Cattrall who plays Samantha Jones wore a red Vivienne Westwood gown.

Kristin Davis who plays Charlotte also wore a red chiffon dress.

However, our vote for the best dress member of the Sexy and The City cast goes to Cynthia Nixon who plays Miranda who wore a ultra sexy plunging sequined black gown by Calvin Klein.

The cast attended an after party following the world premiere of Sex and The City at Old Billingsgate in London.

So far, the overnight London reviews for the movie has been mixed.

Baby Mama - Can a Mother and Surrogate Mother Survive Pregnancy?

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in Baby Mama

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in Baby Mama

It use to be that movies were based on books, and then adapted into television series.

Now it seems that the small screen is proving to be the launching pad for big screen movies.

From the producers of SNL comes the romantic comedy Baby Mama to be followed next month by another TV to big screen movie Sex and the City opening on Memorial Day in the states, just in time for the summer movie season.

Baby Mama is truly a New York based film; in fact, its world premier will be held at the opening night for New York City's Tribeca Film Festival on April 23, 2008.

How New Yorkish can this film be?

Well, it stars Tina Fey, former head writer and performer on Saturday Night Live and Amy Poehler who just happens to be a current SNL cast member.

Baby Mama Preview

The Baby Mama was written and directed by Michael McCullers a former sketch writer for SNL and produced the Lorne Michaels SNL creator.

With a procession of actresses either having children or adopting, how right on can this movie be.

Well, very right on.

Tina Frey who plays the career woman who suddenly realizes that her biological clock is running out of time, carefully weights all the options on having a child.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler - Girls Night Out

As successful single businesswoman Kate Holbrook played by Tina Fey has long put her career ahead of her personal life but discovers at age 37 that there is something missing from her life - a baby.

After visiting with fertility doctors she learns that her chance of having a baby are a million to one, until she hits on the idea of using a surrogate mother to carry the baby.

Kate get a South Philly working girl Angie Ostrowiski (Amy Poehler) as the surrogate mother and all seems to be going as planned with Angie pregnant, until Angie arrives on her door with no place to go.

In a typical odd couple fashion, the organized Kate must play mother to both her baby and the surrogate mother.

From insuring that she eats right, remember your eating for you and the baby to baby proofing the apartment to the point that Angie cannot figure how to use anything, the dichotomy of personalities creates some very funny moments.

Will these two opposite personalities make it to term - well, your just have to watch and find out in the Baby Mama, which opens to the general public on Friday, April 25, 2008.

If you cannot see the video clips or photos in your E-mail or news reader, just go to Baby Mama.

Kate Bosworth Fashionable 21 Win

If fashions were blackjack, Kate Bosworth would be an easy winner.

The young star and fashion icon has electrified red carpets from glittery Las Vegas to New York in some very fashionable and hot outfits.

For the premiere of her new movie 21 in Las Vegas, which opens national wide on Friday March 28, 2008, Kate wore a beautiful, sparkling sequined ruffled Chanel Haute Couture dress with arm warmers and jewels by Van Cleff and Arpel.

In her interview on the Late Nite Show with David Letterman she wore a striking black sequined dress with patterned leggings.

When it comes to fashion, it is easy to see that Kate Bosworth is a clear winner hands down.

Kate Bosworth, who played Lois Lane in the movie Superman Returns, plays the character Jill Taylor in the movie 21.

The film, 21, is based on the true story by Ben Mezrich - "Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions" and stars Kate Bosworth, Kevin Spacey and Lawrence Fishburne.

Its focuses on Jim Sturgess, who plays Ben Campbell a MIT math whiz kid who slaves away at a men's store earning $8 an hour and counting on a scholarship to pay for Harvard Med school tuition.

Ben Campbell is recruited by Micky Rose, played by Kevin Spacey, to form a team of gifted students who spend their weekends counting cards in Las Vegas.

The film dwells somewhat on explaining the methods Micky's team use to beat the house and the elaborate disguises, signals and codes they used while counting cards in Las Vegas and know-how they acquire to turn the odds at blackjack in their favor.

Of course, just winning at blackjack and beating the house lacks the intrigue needed for a movie.

Kate Bosworth Interview With David Letterman

In this case the intrigue comes in the guise of fellow team member Jill Taylor, played by Kate Bosworth, who distracts Ben Campbell from his careful card counting routine.

According to an item in People, Kat Bosworth can't remember the steamy love scene with Jim Sturgess from the movie 21.

Kate related that "Jim and I became such good friends, we decided to have a couple of drinks, loosen up and go for it."

Susan Sarandon who plays Queen Narissa and Prince Edward played by James Marsden

Susan Sarandon who plays Queen Narissa and Prince Edward played by James Marsden

Time to be Enchanted - well at least for some more looks behind the scenes of the movie Enchanted.

We now know that Amy Adams plays Giselle the Snow White based princess in Enchanted who arrives from the animated world to the real world in New York City through a manhole in Times Square.

But is Amy Adams the only princess making an appearance in the movie?

Well, take a guess, and we will cue you in at the end of this story.

Susan Sarandon who plays Queen Narissa

And, how does a fairy tale princess dress in the Big Apple.

Well, in the forest Giselle had her forest friend to help her get dressed and clean up, but whom can she call on for help in New York.

Of course, the local wildlife including those every so helpful sewer rats, pigeons and, of course, those loveable little cockroaches.

Who said you had to drive to the country to enjoy urban wildlife.

Susan Sarandon who plays Queen Narissa is awe inspiring in her stunning, queenly outfit.

From the black bustier corset top, to the metallic gill like embellishments in the gown, to that large black lace see through cape and long black gloves, Susan Sarandon really impresses as Queen Narissa.

With just a raised eyebrow and those blazing eyes, Susan Sarandon can hold an audience spellbound as she shows aspiring actresses just how powerful simple facial expressions can be.

Princess Giselle sings That's How You Know
Princess Giselle sings That's How You Know. Similar to the scene in Beauty and the Beast and The Sound of Music.

No wonder Susan says its always fun to be bad.

For those of you who love movie trivia, be sure to watch the scene in Central Park were Giselle sings "That's How You Know".

Watch her, on a small, grassy hill with her arms stretched out behind her as the camera tilts and zooms.

Does the scene seem familiar?

Well, it an exact recreation of a similar scene in "Beauty and the Beast", which scene was based on a famous scene from "The Sound of Music" staring Julie Andrews, who by the way, just happened to be the narrator for Enchanted.

Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) and Princess Ariel (Jodie Benson) the voice of Ariel from The Little Mermaid
Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) and Princess Ariel (Jodie Benson) the voice of Ariel from The Little Mermaid

Well, before the director's cut comes out on DVD, here is the run down on the other princesses in Enchanted.

Who is the receptionist in Robert Philip (Patrick Dempsey) law office?

Well, if you guessed Jodi Benson you are right.

And, who is Jodie Benson, why she was the voice of Ariel from "The Little Mermaid".

In fact, the name of the law firm is Churchill, Harline and Smith which just happens to be composed of the names of the three song writers for "Snow White"!"

And, when Robert Philip (Patrick Dempsey) is watching a hotel room television one captures a brief glimpse on the television screen of Paige O'Hara the voice of Belle from "Beauty and the Beast".

So enjoy the trailer from the movie, it opens in the United States on November 21, 2007 and makes a wonderful holiday treat for the whole family.

As they say in the circus, this is a movie for children of all ages.

If you cannot see the above film clip in your e-mail or reader program, just go to Enchanted.

Sizzling Outfits From The Summer Movies

Megan Fox in low rider jeans and belly top in a scene from the movie Transformers

With temperatures sizzling and the dog days of summer approaching, its time to head to our local bijou to cool down.

It's been a blockbuster summer, thus far, for the movies, with titles such as Transformers setting box office records.

But on the fashion front, simple combinations can combine to create a sexy outfit.

A pair of low rider, hip hugging jeans and an orange belly top shirt is all that is need to create that hot look for Megan Fox who plays Mikaela Banes in Transformers.

Of course, even a simple school girl uniform can be enchanting when worn by the right pupil, in this case, Evanna Lunch shows us how a simple white blouse and sweater jacket can become an enchanting outfit in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Just add a wand, to top off this look.

Another look we admire is the outfit worn by Elizabeth Banks as she glazes up at Topher Grace in Spider Man 3.

Lacy, black little see thru dress with puffy short sleeves and small white polka dots.

I just love this sedate, yet sexy outfit.

It's almost matronly yet with its revealing see thru qualities it's also revealing seductive.

Michelle Pfeiffer in a low cut red dress with high hairdo from the movie Hairspray

Just the right amount of retro glamour in a dress.

Well, we might as well end this review of summer movie fashions with a BANG.

What could be more explosive than that great hairdo of Michelle Pfeiffer in the movie Hairspray. What an explosive combination - red dress and blond hair.

Just love Michelle side cut red dress and her great sparkling bubbles, bangles and beads.

Time to raid the second hand stores for some great costume jewelry.

Don't you just yearn for that 60s look - when hair was hair - big and sexy - and not like those short razor boys cut many actresses are sporting today.
